"I don't have an amazing insurance story, but one of great personal ethics. I don't even know which of the State Farm personnel I am referring to; all I know is; they are a very handsome, married couple; they own a jeep, and they are very kind.
They found out I had to walk a few miles to go pay my recent insurance payment, and we spoke a few minutes about a bike that was stolen from me, etc, and when I arrived home, this couple was there, waiting for me, with a very nice bicycle, a lock for it, and the lights required to ride after dark, already installed, ready to use.
In contemplating a way to thank them, it occurred to me; it isn't so much the goodness in people that is lacking- so that is not why I am posting- it is the gratitude I seem to find missing in today's social climate.
I believe everyone has the best intentions at heart We all want to help people. Some of us have the wherewithal to act upon it, some of us don't. However, what we all do have in abundance- is the ability to be grateful for the kindness that is shown to us. And people- My people, my brethren, my homies, my friends, neighbors- we can do better.
And so, to this wonderful couple who did as their hearts inclined them; know that I appreciate this gift tremendously. You have shown concern for me, taken time out of your day, to provide me with an expensive gift, and given back my mobility.
